Grey is said to be "a color with out color." Why, then, is there SO MUCH grey (outdone only by black of course!) in women's wardrobes today? Given all the primary and secondary colors of the spectrum, why do shades of grey take up at least ONE FIFTH of the space on my shop's clothing racks? Why do YOU wear grey? What does it say about you? Does YOUR GREY say
CHIC & sophisticated OR DULL & depressing? If it's hard to look at yourself, BEGIN with a non-judgmental look at others around you. What does grey tell you about someone else (whether true or perceived)? Is grey a deliberate choice to be formal, conservative and neutral OR is it a careless, lazy kind of wardrobe choice (yep that sounds judgey). Now, GET GUTSY and take a hard look at yourself. HOW TO WEAR GREY: Cool under toned skin can wear any shade of grey. Grey may "wash out" your face if you have warm under tones, so be careful. Dark colors, like jeweled tones, go well with light grey. Adding an intense color when wearing grey adds balance and interest to your outfit. Dark grey pairs well with softer colors. Add a colored or patterned jacket or sweater. Swap out the top or bottom with color to break up the look (though I LOVE a deliberate, chic MONOCHROME of grey on the right skin tone!). "Style" your grey with a bold print and/or a fun texture. Add bright accessories--scarf, shoes, jewelry, belt. Take YOUR GREY from frumpy to A FOUNDATION FOR SOMETHING POSITIVE! Grey is neutral and goes with nearly everything so, I SAY, add some color to it please!
